The *Kkotsal Moon Flower* series draws from the floral carvings found on Korean Buddhist temple doors, traditionally carved from a single slab of mulberry wood. Lee translates the logic of carving and removal into clay, using incision, pressure, and accumulation to construct forms that continually shift between structure and instability.

Tension emerges through difficult angles, shifting surfaces, transforming drips, texture, and layered glaze. What begins with a recognisable architectural and floral vocabulary gradually moves toward something more ambiguous—an unruly beauty that resists resolution and remains open to perception.
